Bleh the Buddha

| >

A self-described "Public Enhancer," Bleh the Buddha (aka Xzavier Weed's) work is well known around the South Loop and Chicago environs--emblazoned on walls, signs, paper boxes, clothing, and anywhere fans can stick a sticker.   Bright and fresh with vintage advertising influences and appropriated formats,  you can't miss it, nor can you ignore his mark on the Columbia Campus at large and particularly in the Library., where he's worked as student staffer the past four years and served as one of our unofficial resident artists--always up for artmaking experiments, shenanigans,  and calls for work . His work has been featured previously in Tattoo:  Ink, Art. Object and Tiki Madness.

From our Library sketchbooks to exhibits, the Little Indie Press Festival to providing illustrations our 2017 award-winning ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Application, his work crops up again and again in our spaces and has, in turn, worked its way into the fabric of our visual presence well into the future.

Xzavier is also featured in our Mark Makers experiments this Manifest, so check out his work there and on the Library's 4th Floor this summer...
